In the Japanese golf course, there are so many golf competitions that anyone, including amateur golfer can participate. It is not a competition competing for the score of golf, but a competition for getting some kind of goods for enjoyment.They will place a ranking according to the rules of golf called a method of handicapping"peoria-method".
Normally you will submit a half-round score in the morning to determine the ranking.
As we finish the half round in the afternoon, the result has already come out and parties etc. are not normally done. Not all participants have prizes, but if you fall under the ranking of a jumping prize, for example when winning in 15th place,you'll get some prize.

"Spring Competition" on Tuesday, January 24th,2017 and "Shibayama Open Competition" will be held on Wednesday 8th February,2017 at Shibayama Golf Course near Tokyo Narita Airport. The former is a half competition, the latter is a one round of golf competition that anyone can participate. Competition of the 28th is 9,000 yen,  and of the 8th is 10,000 yen including all charges. Let's join these two golf competitions by doing a practice round at the same golf course on the day before the competition. It may be a good chance to win luxury prizes!

I'll show you two preferred golf courses chosen from Japan's greatest golf courses. It is about a 30 or 40 minute drive from Narita International Airport by car. These two courses have very fast putting green,13 or 14 feet as Stimpmeter. How about coming to play here?

If you are a low handicapper and if you can afford it, please come to this course.
I advise you not to play here if your tee shot typically curves right or left. It is a golf course where an accurate shot is required. It's a little bit difficult for visitors to book these two courses. Those courses do have a dress code policy.

Do golf courses around Narita Airport have dress codes?

I have investigated golf courses around Narita Airport from various points of view.

A good indicator of whether or not there is a dress code is the price of the course you plan to play at.The higher the green fees, the more likely there is to be a dress code for golfers.
Yes, almost all golf courses around Narita Airport have its own dress code requirement.
On the other hand,it may be said that there are many negligent golfers when it comes to golf wear.
All the courses ask male guests to wear jackets or blazers when they play at the golf club.(Except between July and September)
Also,the cancellation fees of Eagle Lake Golf Club and Taiheiyo Club Narita Course will be required, when you cancel the booking.

September and October are the best months for golf in Japan.

Of course you can enjoy golf even in the winter here in Japan. It's possible to enjoy golf all year long at the golf courses around Narita.
There is snowfall in the areas marked in light blue on the image I've shown you, on the Sea of Japan side in winter: December, January, February and March.
However, you can enjoy golf in the winter season around Narita Airport in Chiba prefecture.The reason is that the Tokyo and Narita area get only one or two days of light snowfall, and the snow rarely remains on the ground for more than a few days.

Slow Play at the Golf Course !

How much time do you spend to finish a half nine hole ?
It is challenging for most golfers to count the time to finish one hole.
When you tee up a ball on the par four hole, you should pay attention, whether there are golfers on this hole or not.
If there are golfers on the green of this hole, you are considerably late playing.
It is ideal to play golf within 2 hours 15 minutes for a half nine hole.
Your slow play is harmful to the Japanese golf course.
Most of all golf courses in Japan have separate tee-up place when your ball has gone out of bounds. We call it "playing four" place in the per four holes or "playing three" place in the per three holes.

Are you a beginner golfer?
If so, I'm afraid to tell you that you'll have a hard time playing golf in Japan.
Only few golf courses in Japan accept beginners.

3972 yen in the Karuizawa 72 Golf

How about weekdays from April 1 to 15th, playing golf at the Karuizawa 72 Golf west course? It says that the web special open price is 3,972 yen, not including your lunch and tax. This price is very cheap and I haven't seen it for past years. The normal rate for this period is 6,500 yen. Also, weekends on April 2nd and 3rd have two patterns,one is the normal 12,300 yen price, the other is the 7,245 yen web special price. Because this round rate is very affordable, it will be fully sold out by March.A slightly early booking is necessary. The price 3,972 yen is for 4some(4 players) 3-some ＋1,080 yen/2-some ＋3,240 yen
